Abstract

Generosity is a fundamental principle in Islam. Islam encourages generosity and promotes its adoption in all aspects of life, including religious practices, rituals, attitudes, transactions, and behavior. Islam strongly opposes extremism in any form. However, certain acts of extremism by a small group of individuals provide an opportunity for critics to associate extremism with Islam. This study analyzes these issues in light of Shariah texts, examining whether Islam has any connection with extremism and how its values of generosity and moderation refute such claims. The study employs analytical and descriptive approaches to assess the data. The findings reveal that Islam is a religion that fosters generosity in all aspects, firmly rejects extremism, and has no fundamental connection with extremist ideologies. The study offers both supporters and critics of Islam an understanding of its true essence and enables sincere Muslims to reject extremism in all areas of life.
